    Do you love/hate character dining?

    Do you have a favourite?

Any character dining places you go to purely for the food and not the character photo opportunities?

Quite enjoy the character dining. Used to do 1900 fare at Floridian as it was the departure day breakfast for virgin but they no longer do that. Try to do a different one each year now, although the Ohana breakfast has been the best so far.

only done 2, ohana and 1900 park fare not something I need to do unless we have kids with us ,did them for the experience and the food and we didnt have the kids with us at the time, if money was no object I'd do them but think they are overpriced

My dilemma too we booked chef mickey for nigels birthday but when he realised it was $60 he couldn't justify the price so we have changed to breakfast its stil $39 but at least it inc drinks but as were not doing the Disney parks did think it was a way of seeing the main 5 characters but it is overpriced if you don't have the dining plan but thankfully only doing this one.

I've done 1900 park fare and Crystal Palace, enjoyed both and the different characters at each one

We have eaten at quite a few, our favourites are 1900 park fare, Be our guest, Crystal Palace, Tusker house. Didn't enjoy Chef Mickeys at all, more expensive than a lot of the others.

Not done character dining either. Was always on a tight budget when the family came with us, but now it's usually just the two of us so we don't bother.

As you would expect, we've done quite a few as its a good way of getting photographs and autographs without the hassle of queuing. I was disappointed with Chef Mickey but enjoyed all the others. I like Breakfast with the Princesses at Akershus in the Norway Pavilion because the food is very different. And nothing to do with the fact that there are Danish pastries for breakfast!! Do like Ohana and 1900 Park Fare but then I love to see Pooh and friends at Crystal Palace and Donald at Tusker House. So I guess I like them all apart from Chef Mickey! Although its not a character meal, I think its worth going to BOG at least once just for the setting but that is really overpriced and the food was nothing special [but we did get pastries again!]. Much easier to do character dining if you have the dining plan and even better if the dining plan is free!!

We've done quite a few over the years, but it's been a few years since we have, now the boys are older, can't justify the price. The first time we went to Chef Mickeys it was fab, the last time was rubbish - service was horrendous and it was so over crowded, would never go there again.

Would agree with Fernix on Chef Mickey was awful when we went and being about $10 more compared to the likes of Crystal Palace and 1900 park fare, and far better imo.
Be Our Guest dinner was lovely but wouldn't bother with either breakfast or lunch there again.

The Disney Jr character dining at Hollywood & Vine (Hollywood Studios) is awesome! The food is some of the best we've had on Disney property. Buffet style, but don't let that put you off as they have adults & kids. Adults included lobster!

    Well worth a visit.
